Overland IV - Hand-pulled Original Print

About The Work:

“Overland” expresses my love of repeating patterns and my need to both create order from chaos and make art that  provides a peaceful and meditative experience, where I can lose myself in the creative process.  This is one of a collective body of work called “In The Wind”, a series of visual artworks, along with an accompanying poem, that are based on a recurring dream I have where I rise from the ground and fly over land.  The dragonflies depicted in this piece are an integral part of the Manitoba landscape and symbolize change through self-discovery and the opening of oneself to living uninhibited and in the moment, embracing authentic self.  This overall design is also a repeating pattern when digitized.   I created “Overland” by layering two linocut designs, the first a backdrop of land and horizon, and the second  a foreground of leaves, seeds and dragonflies in the wind. I then hand-embellished this work using ink markers and gel-pens.

Artwork Size: 9 x 12 inches matted to fit an 16x20 inch standard frame size. Frame is not included.

This is a varied edition limited run of 10 works hand printed on acid-free fine art paper. Each work is unique, matted and enclosed in a protective clear plastic sleeve. A Certificate Of Authenticity is also included.
