“Could it be that I, just looking at this butterfly, triggered an unintended Butterfly Effect? My thoughts and perceptions, my future reactions shifting as a consequence of encountering and contemplating its perfection, its magic for a moment in time? Forget about the flapping of its wings causing hurricanes on the other side of the world. What if, in the 10 minutes I took to observe this creature my world drifted a few degrees, what if the chain of consequential events are now spun off axis from what would have been had I not had this close encounter and instead carried on with my life in an earlier timeline...? This random event has most definitely changed the course of the rest of my life, for I took time and intent and I drew its image onto paper with pen and color and heart. And could it be that I, in creating this zenwork, continue this butterfly effect? Your thoughts and actions shifting as a consequence of encountering and contemplating its beauty, its spirit. Forget about the flapping of wings causing cataclysmic events on the other side of the world. What if, in the time it took to view this, your world has also shifted, ever so slightly....?”.

My Zenworks express my love of pen and ink and a desire to poetically meld the abstract with imagery created through spontaneous strokes and repeating patterns. Zenworks emerge via a tranquil, meditative process that frees me to explore and experiment with line, shape and colour.

Limited Edition Reproduction Prints (maximum run of 75) of the original Pen and Ink artwork are printed on acid-free fine art paper with a foamcore backmat and enclosed in a protective clear plastic sleeve. A Certificate Of Authenticity is also included.

I scan my original artwork with an Epson Expression 11000XL Graphic Arts flatbed scanner and then print the reproduced image onto acid-free fine art paper using an Epson Stylus Pro 3880 Designer Edition printer with Epson Ultrachrome K3 Archival Inks. Please note that colors may appear slightly different on screen than they do on your limited edition archival print.
